Elopements

Elopements are no longer a secretive Romeo and Juliet style escape, but they’re every bit as romantic as they’ve always been. I’m in love with elopements and the thought of two people uniting their lives in such a quiet and intimate way. It’s a beautiful start to marriage and it’s an honor to witness and document. Elopements vary, but on average couples choose 4 hours of coverage— just enoughto capture getting ready, the ceremony or vows, portraits, and a bit of the celebration afterward. The best part about eloping is that you don’t need to find the perfect location all on your own. I thrive on researching an area to find the perfect spot for you, and will even go as far as to research and recommend getting ready and reception/celebration locations! Basically, I love elopements and want to be there to support you at yours. Even (or especially) if that means traveling somewhere unique to capture it all.

Destination Weddings

If you’ve looked through my site you may have figured out by now that I love love love to travel. Yes, I know, who doesn’t…but seriously. I spent my childhood years between the ocean, the desert, and our family timeshare in Puerto Vallarta, and I was awakened to photography while traveling with my family to the Hawaiian Islands as an 11 year old. Studying art in college and living abroad in both Europe and South America brought a global expansion to my travels and a new found passion in cultures and landscapes different from my own. Since then I’ve been to 28 countries and hope to add to that number each year! I find that traveling lights a fire within me to invest myself more in the world around me, to love the people in my life better, to work for the greater good, to be healthier—to enjoy more fully the life I’ve been given. I want to share this travel passion of mine and unite it with yours by traveling together to any destination you can dream of for your wedding day. Although travel and accommodation costs are added in addition to the photography package you choose, all destination wedding packages come with rehearsal coverage and a Day Before or Day After session. For any destination weddings I put my whole heart into finding the perfect photo locations to create the images you’re envisioning. There are a lot of wonderful travel photographers out there, but I can promise you that in working with me you’ll be working with someone whose heart is fully engaged.

Intimate Weddings

Not eloping but not quite having an average sized wedding, either? I’m happy to talk with you more about the unique photography needs of your intimate wedding. Intimate wedding celebrations are about 50 people or less, but tend to be between 15-25 people on average. These weddings often require less coverage than a standard wedding and therefore my packages and pricing varies for them. Reach out to me if this sounds like you and you’d like more information!

Where are you based?

I currently call San Diego, California home and as much as I love (and am more than willing) to explore new places, it’s always a joy to return!

What is your philosophy and shooting style?

Clients have described my photography as vivid, honest, and pure. I like these words! I also like to think of the work I create as intentional and natural, and I certainly hope it’s at times moving and inspirational. When shooting I go back and forth between light direction and letting you exist in a moment as if you were alone while I wander around you and document it all. I want you to be comfortable and I want who you are as a couple or individual to truly be brought to light, so when you look at these images in years to come you see the emotions you felt at that time.

My philosophy and goal is to build a relationship with you, to involve you in the process of planning out our shoots if you have distinct ideas and hopes, and to bring peace to your wedding day or event through my own preparation and presence.

How do I book you for our wedding?

It’s easy! Start by sending me an e-mail through the form on my Contact page. Once we are ready to move forward I’ll send you a contract and an invoice for a deposit that is 30% of your total package cost. When the deposit and contract are returned to me, you are booked and I will see you at your wedding (and hopefully sooner)!

When do we receive our images, and how many do we get?

Weddings images are delivered 6-8 weeks after the event date and all other session images are delivered 4-6 weeks after the session date. Quantity of images delivered depends on which package is booked. For more details, see “Packages and Pricing” above, or contact me.

What can we do with our photos?

Your photos are yours, so you can do whatever you’d like with them! Print them out for your home (please print them out!) or post them on social media. Of course I will always appreciate it if you credit or refer me when posting! I only ask that you don’t add any filters when posting online to social media. A huge part of my work and the reason you were drawn to it is the way in which I edit. Colors and lighting are important to me and consistency is key in building my brand. When filters are added to finished images, they are no longer my product and don’t represent my best abilities to others who might see them.

Do you offer prints or albums?

I do! I would be thrilled should you choose to print your photos out as I believe that’s how they are most thoroughly enjoyed and best preserved! (Trust me, a printed photo is on another level. Do it!). Prints are available to order through my lab via the online gallery you will receive when your images are delivered to you. The process is straightforward but I am happy to help you need it. Do you offer any discounts?

For 2017 bookings I am offering a small gifts to anyone who refers me to a couple that then books a wedding photography package! Discounts are also available for weddings or photography sessions that take place at any of the locations listed on my 2017 Travel Bucket List. Day Before or Day After Sessions are typically for couples who arehaving a destination wedding or eloping somewhere far from home. They are a great way to take advantage of the beautiful landscapes where you decided to join together as husband and wife, without all of the high emotions that can come on a wedding day itself. These sessions tend to be relaxed, adventurous, and joyful; and they are often the couple’s favorite time during their wedding celebration!

Day Before/After sessions are included in all destination wedding packages, and may be added at an additional cost to standard wedding packages, elopements, and intimate weddings. Please reach out for more information and pricing.

Printed Album

Printed Albums are a cherished piece that you will be able to touch, pick up, and enjoy anytime you wish. We live in a digital age, but there will never be a digital image that can compare with the beauty of a tangible, printed photograph. I strongly encourage all of my couples to print their photos, and I’m proud to offer a product I believe in. All albums are designed by me (did you know I worked as a graphic designer before starting my photography business?), proofed by my couples, and printed with either Artifact Uprising or Red Tree Albums. Album sizes and colors are optional, and additional spreads can be added at an increased price. Please inquire for costs and more details!

Online Gallery & USB Drives

Every wedding or session is delivered through a password protected online gallery. Online galleries are available for 6 months, and couples are notified as their gallery end date approaches. Images may also be provided on a USB drive at an additional cost.

Engagement Sessions are included in two of the three standard packages, or may be purchased separately or added at an additional cost to elopements and intimate weddings.

Engagements are a great way for us to meet together before your wedding day and get to know each other better. They help you as a couple to relax behind the camera so that on your wedding day you feel at ease and comfortable, and they help me as a photographer learn more about how to best photograph the two of you. They are also a whole lot of fun and a beautiful way to capture the special and brief season of life before you get married.

I often ask couples to think about a location, such as a place outside, a coffee shop or bar, a home, etc. that has significance to them as a couple. Locations like these tell unique stories about who you are together. I also love to work with my couples to find adventurous and stunning landscapes any chance I get (which is anytime my couple is up for heading outside!).

1-2 hour sessions are available for maternity, newborn, family, and lifestyle (or rather, any other type of photography you can dream of) sessions. These sessions are priced at an hourly rate. Please reach out to mefor more information on booking.

For wedding photography packages of 6 hours or more, hot vendor meals must be provided for myself and my second shooter at the venue. It is best if we eat as soon as dinner is served so we can take a quick break and continue shooting during important reception moments (without getting those awkward eating photos of your guests!). This does mean you should let your coordinator and caterer know we will need to be served immediately, before or with the first guests. We are happy to sit in a hidden corner so guests do not see us eating. Thank you for your understanding!
